MEDIEVAL MURDER MYSTERY: To host a medieval murder mystery game really isn’t that difficult and most of the work will be completed in the planning. You need to inform each guest of the part they will be playing and how to dress as well as the facts they need to know. One of the hosts should play the murdered character and wait in the banquet hall as though he or she were dead. You must make sure that all the guests arrive on time or start the murder mystery about an hour into the party. You can write your own murder mystery if you have the creativity and the time, or you could buy one. You could even base your murder mystery on a real story from medieval times although you may want to make sure there are no historians attending or this could ruin the party somewhat.

MEDIEVAL MUSICAL CHAIRS: This is definitely one of the kids, although drunk adults have been known to play it after quaffing a little too much ale. You can either place pictures of medieval items on the floor or attach them to chairs. Start with one item/chair less than there are people and as you play music the guests must walk around the chairs or items. As the music stops they must find the nearest medieval object and either sit on the chair or stand on the picture. The last one remaining is the winner and can be given a suitable medieval prize. Any of the guests brave enough to turn up with a knight’s helmet on will find this a particularly challenging game.
