Earth Day Party

Earth day is a time to celebrate gains we have made and create new visions to accelerate envioronmental progess. Earth Day is a time to unite around new action. Earth day and every day is a time to act to protect our planet.

On the anniversary of the first Earth Day in1970. the federal government is cleaning the air, promoting land conservation and improving water quality. The Bush administration is focused on achieving meaningful results-cleaning air and water, and healthier lands and wildlife habitats.

* The nation's air is much cleaner today than it was in 1970 and progress will continue.
* The trend of less wetlands has been revised.
* Restoration and redevelopment of abandoned industrial sites is accelerating.
* President Bush is meeting his committments to reduce the National Park Service maintenance back log.

There are things that we all can do to help make Earth Day everyday like volunteering with government at all levels and with the forrest service. At home and in the office, save energy, use less water, reuse, recycle and reduce. At the office commute smart. At school learn about how to help make Earth Day a celebration and reason to change.
